I am a professional educator and lifelong learner, so it is natural for me to enjoy sharing tea knowledge with our customers and to help spread the word about the fascinating world of single origin tea.
My love of helping to enrich others’ lives led me to pursue this career. As an enthusiastic teacher, I am committed to helping students improve their abilities in math, in turn, fostering their motivation to learn. Equity, and ensuring all students learn is of fundamental importance to me.
I bring this same enthused perspective to our tea business, as knowledge sharing is closely tied to our brand endeavors. First, we do this because we love tea. Second, because we feel there is immeasurable value in spreading this kind of knowledge. And third, we are thrilled to offer the US access to a blue ocean of quality sourcing and consistently innovative product ideals.
In 2015 I earned a BA degree in Mathematics with a Secondary Teaching Credential. In 2019 I completed the requirements for a MS degree in Mathematics from Montana State University, focusing on Mathematics Education. In July 2019, I relocated to Vancouver to continue my career as a secondary mathematics teacher.
Prior to becoming a certificated teacher, I tutored both children and adults extensively. I founded Eclipse Tutoring in 2014, and it has since grown from just myself to over twenty tutors serving Tri-Cities, Spokane, Portland, and Vancouver. While tutoring helped to solidify my math proficiencies, as well as my one-on-one teaching methods, this entrepreneurial endeavor is also further proof of my dedication to learning.
My nascent interest in tea was initially cultivated due to my husband’s own passion for tea. Again, because of his background, I grew to appreciate both tea and wine in tandem. The nuance of each tea began to amaze me! The tea ceremony, whether traditional or not, is uniquely personal, and the experience itself takes on shading akin to the expectant preparation of a journey beyond familiar bounds.
Anytime you drink tea can be a ceremony of sorts. You just have to make a little space for it. Tea naturally lends itself to so many other humanistic realms of discovery. It seems to both ground and align so as to clear a path forward. Tea has always been this gateway, and a wonderful experience in all its simplicity.
